Wall Mask Papier Maché | Big Orange Tiger

This yellow tiger mask, in an intermediate 7.5 cm size, strikes a balance between bold presence and discretion: neither too large for a small wall, nor too subtle to go unnoticed. Handmade from papier-mâché in the Odisha region of India, it embodies the strength and protection associated with the tiger in Indian mythology.

The craftsmanship behind this piece is ancestral: each mask is sculpted, shaped from papier-mâché, naturally dried, then fully hand-painted by a local artisan using techniques passed down for generations. This versatile size fits easily into a gallery wall mixing different mask sizes, or on its own on a shelf. 

Each piece retains subtle unique characteristics, inherent to its entirely handmade production.

No two pieces are strictly identical; slight variations in color and relief are a testament to this entirely manual work.
